Background
I am Aaron Horton, an American mechanical engineer. I moved to China in 1996 and have worked here for 30 years. I built and ran a 200-employee Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise factory in Changtai, established operations in Shanghai and Xiamen, and in March 2006 I founded Aaron Horton China Consulting.
How I Work
Hands-on. I walk the factory floor. I answer the phone. I built my supplier network factory by factory, I translate between Western and Chinese sides in fluent Mandarin and English, and I am honest about cost, schedule, and risk.
Now in Chongqing
In January 2026 I established a new manufacturing operation in Chongqing, one of China's most active inland industrial hubs. My son serves as Operations Manager and COO, executing day-to-day under my engineering direction.
